Can you believe this? Ethan is having his first avocado!!! He had it from the top of his head to the bottom of his toes! I am just so in love with this little guy. I can't believe he is growing up so quickly! Next thing you will know, I will be posting pictures of him crawling, pulling himself up, and then walking. Daddy was so concerned about him eating food all by himself, but we aren't giving him any jarred baby food. It isn't good for him and we aren't going to be spoon feeding him at all. From all I have read, babies do much better if they are given real "finger" food prior to eating regular table food. And we are limiting his food to all organic food so that he remains healthy. Of course, Ethan will be breastfed until he decides he doesn't want mommy's milk anymore, but we can always have fun with food! :)

some flowers from our flower garden this year. I love these! I wanted to do a veggie garden this year but didn't get it started in time. Hopefully next year with no excuses. With the new baby, though, its pretty limited to what I have planted in the past. Mikey and I still have to go around and see what all is coming up, but these are in a smaller plot by our shed which we can see when looking out the kitchen window, and they really cheer me up to see them. I love this flower and love the color of these. We also have orange ones but I really love the pink. :)

we finally made it! 3.3 miles is a pretty good hike for an 8 year old (and dad!).

This is 1/2 way through our trip. At this point, there were no bugs or bothers.

This is the bridge over the river and the beginning of our hike. This is the Pemigwasset River and is usually very dry in this area. There is a lot of water here becuase of all the rains we've had in the North East this year.  

This is the beginning of our trip to Franconia Falls. The hike in was 3.3 miles. Ethan was a real trooper! Mikey did awesome! This was the first hike I have been on since I was pregnant with Ethan.  

I am hesitantly getting involved in politics again. After the last major disapointment, I am hoping this round is more productive.
I attended my first "house party" (thats what we do in NH) and met Senator Biden. He gave a good speach and I went with 2 great friends to Exeter, NH to hear him speak. Time shall tell whether he will be the Democratic Nominee.
I just hope our country pulls out of our current state of chaos.

Can you see the frog? This is the 2nd floor bedroom window of our house. Granted, there is a tree outside and he probably got here by climbing the tree, but isn't it funny? I hope he didn't fall!
